Steps -

01

Contact Bluline

Contact the Bluline administration office to let us know that you may need to initiate a claim. Call 01905 796682 or submit your enquiry

02

Consult GP

If your GP thinks you need to see a specialist tell them that you are a member of Bluline so that they can make a private referral.

03

Contact Bluline

Let a member of our team know what your GP has suggested you need to do so that we can open a claim.

04

Claim Form

You will receive a claim form together with ‘Notes for the Consultant/Specialist’. Bluline uses preferred provider hospitals in your area. Our administrators can discuss this with you at the point of opening the claim.

Complete the claim form, sign and return it to the Bluline by email or post. Please note that Bluline will only accept an original signature.

05

At the consultation

Present the signed ‘Notes for Consultant/Specialist’ to the consultant. This provides your consent for the consultant to supply a copy of your clinic letter to Bluline.

If the consultant states that further investigation or treatment is required please contact Bluline for pre-authorisation before any treatment takes place.

06

After your consultation

The Bluline team will authorise investigation and/or treatment (so long as it falls within the scheme rules) and guide you through the next steps.

07

Our flexible approach

If you have seen a consultant via the NHS, you can still claim for follow up treatment through Bluline as long as your claim falls within the scheme rules. Contact one of our administrators to find out more.

Important points to remember:

  • The Scheme relies on its Members, or Associate Members, to update the Bluline Administration team at each stage of the claim. If we are unaware of treatment, or appointments, then the Member or Associate Member may be liable for costs.
  • It is essential that you identify yourself as a member of the Scheme prior to receiving treatment.
  • You may nominate a spouse, relative or friend to have authorisation to speak on your behalf on your new claim.
